"Bye Bye Birdie"

Drama Fest was a performance of student chosen scenes, monologues, and songs. At the start of the semester students chose a play or musical they were interested in exploring and grouped up accordingly. Throughout the semester students used their chosen piece to explore play analysis, set design, costume design, light design, sound design, directing, character analysis, monologues, songs, and scenes. The Drama Fest was a culmination of the semesters work where the students got to put their new skills like taking risks, creative problem solving, teamwork, leadership, empathy, planning, and organization to the test. The ensemble members worked both as performers as well as technicians to experience the ins and outs of what it takes to put on a show including, but not limited to design, performance, tech, audience services, marketing, fundraising, social media, business, and finance. Drama Fest 2021 consisted of a sharing of chosen student performed scenes, monologues, and songs while also giving the students the opportunity to run the show by performing technical duties and other support responsibilities.
